Most readers will be familiar with George MacDonald from the many references C.S. Lewis makes to him. Lewis viewed him as his mentor and guide (chapter 9,
The Great Divorce
) and much of Lewis’ style and form has been influenced by George MacDonald. More importantly, however, Lewis’ imagination and spiritual journey has been guided by the writings of MacDonald.
